We finished our first day of homeschooling!

We're still alive. I guess that's a good sign. LOL! Actually, it went quite well except for one crying outburst when I tried to make her watch Between the Lions on PBS. (I'm so mean!)

The funniest part was that I thought I had over-scheduled us for our four-hour-day and we finished everything in two hours!! I was a little surprised by that but got on a homeschooling msg board for some advice and came up with some things to add like phonics games on the computer and music.

We had a fun time and Caroline said "the Bible story was my favorite part because I love Jesus." When I told her she wouldn't have learned a Bible story in public school, she was shocked! She said, "I love you Mama", "you're the best, Mama" all day long.

Yep, it was a pretty good day. Unless you count later in the day when I wanted to take her picture for the first day of school and she cried and wouldn't let me. Other than that, it was good. I'll have to fake the picture another day this week. Poor me.

I'm so glad you made it through the first day! That is so wonderful what Caroline said about you being the best! (You are, BTW!)I'm sure you will get into a routine soon. But I would think that one of the joys of homeschooling is being flexible. I am looking forward to seeing how this year goes. I'm sure it's going to be fun!

(Glad to know I'm not the only one who has to fake a picture now and then! LOL!)

Good for you!! You'll get the hang of the scheduling...then she'll change her pace. :) I am happy that it went well for you.

Oh, I am so glad your first day went well!! And her comment about the Bible story being her favorite because she "loves Jesus" just made me smile and summed it all up for you I bet! I hope it continues to go so smoothly for you.
