I love my life.

Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't say it but I love my life so much. I don't want to brag. I just feel so super blessed.

Today was our first homeschool support group meeting. We belong to White House Home Educators or WHHE for short. What a great group of people! We meet at a great church that has tons of room and a playground outside. Today the primary group (K-3) listened to a karate instructor teach them safety rules. They also exercised with her. Then a "forestry expert" taught about tree rings and trees and then they all got a "tree cookie" to wear as a necklace. This little piece of wood is just a slice of a tree branch but to Caroline it's as precious as gold. She was so excited! After that we went outside and played a game that involved recognizing the different leaves from different trees. I volunteered to be a team leader so I also had to run and dig thru leaves. It was pretty funny. I felt like a kid again for a few minutes! After our game we had a picnic lunch while we listened to announcements. One announcement was that Mike and I are going to ride on the WHHE float in the White House Christmas parade and lead the group in carols! Caroline loved playing with the other kids and didn't want to leave. I have never met so many normal and nice people in all my life. They are just wonderful!! So easy to talk to and we all have so much in common. (Hi Denise!)

After the meeting we went to the park for a while. It was too hot so we headed home. I just couldn't help thinking all the way home about how blessed we are. Today's meeting counted as almost all of our school day so after some reading we can enjoy the rest of the afternoon just relaxing. I just love my life!

"I have never met so many normal and nice people in all my life." So what did you expect a bunch of mean White House people? Just kidding. I guess they cannot all be as nice as me, huh?

What a great day! I think it is wonderful that you found this group. Let me know when the parade is and we'll try to be there!
