Have you ever had so much to say that you didn't know where to start? That's me right now so I just haven't been blogging at all. Here's the story of my life right now...
- I asked for money for Christmas so I could get a new desk/table for my scrap area in the Den. My sister and I went to Atlanta this week to get the desk I had picked out online at Ikea. Ikea is amazing! If you've never been there, it's worth the trip. Seriously. Above is a picture I took of the way mine will look once it's assembled, only mine will have a white top. This was set up in the showroom of Ikea. I could move right in. I'm very excited about having such a big space to scrap on - the top is 59" wide by 29 1/2" deep.
- Caroline has been sick for weeks now and it has gotten worse in the last few days. It started worsening on Christmas Eve. She had a high fever during our celebration at the in-laws. We would appreciate prayers for her. Mike and I are a little sick as well. We were taking Caroline to Vanderbilt Hospital tonight to get her sinuses x-rayed but we've decided to wait until Monday and see how she is then. It's a long story but basically she's had a sinus infection since before Halloween. It's very exhausting. My house is a mess right now because all I can concentrate on is her and keeping her warm, fed and comfortable.
- I feel like I didn't share all that I wanted to about our Christmas festivities. I'll post a few pics now...here's a pic of my Den tree. I got all new ornaments this year. Previously I've had fancy-schmancy ornaments that matched the decor of my Den (pink, burgundy and tan). This year I decided to make my Den decorations be fun and whimsical so I started a new collection of ornaments. I got most of them half off at Hobby Lobby which was fun! I'm going with mostly red and white and a bright green but I'm open to anything fun. I love them but need many more.
I also started a snowman collection for my Den mantel. I'm VERY picky so I'm only buying ones I absolutely love. I got the two on the left on sale at Hobby Lobby and I love them. The far left one is a vintage reproduction of a Kewpie snowman from the 40's/50's. I want to get a few new snowmen each year. I also got a really cute snowman wreath this year for my Den door. It was kinda hokey but I reworked it. I want to add more little trinkets. I need to pick some up on clearance this week.
Thanks for reading this far! I'll leave you with one of my favorite pics from this Christmas. This is the view of my Christmas tree in my Living Room from my Kitchen. This was the first year we've had the tree in this spot and I loved it because I could enjoy it from the Kitchen too. It made me smile to look that way and see my tree all lit up with my favorite ornaments. Not to sound materialistic but my collection of glass ornaments makes me so happy. I'll post more pics tomorrow, including the albums I made as gifts.
