I have some of my childhood Christmas albums. One of mine was scratched terribly and I found an replacement a few years ago at an antiques mall. I was tickled pink. My two favorites are by Goodyear and my Dad picked them up when he got new tires. How retro cool is that?!
Mike pulled out some of my records stored in his collection today: The Best of Bread, The *new* Gaither Vocal Band, the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and Judy Garland. I'm remembering more but I can't find them.
I started thinking about my records this week after seeing a news piece about this cool place called United Record Pressing. They have been here in Nashville for 40 years and make most of the records out there. Did you know artists are still releasing vinyl? They are used for DJ's in clubs. I sure didn't realize that. I would love to take Caroline there for a field trip. They have some rare editions records on view. I'm thinkin' Daddy might tag-along too.
My records still sound great to me. Right now I'm listening to Mr. and Mrs. Snowman by Roy Clark. Ahhh...takes me back.
Happy weekend!

fun times! :D
good times I remember playing my mom's Beegees record as a kid. ;)
Except for your love of computers, I sometimes think you were born 50 years too late. :) The record player is sooo you. I'm impressed you still have one in working condition. I have a Johnny Cash record I could come over and we could play it and dance. LOL!

How fun..That is so cool for you to own a record player!! I wish I still had my old turn table.
You know I have about 70 LPs we can play anytime! I can't give them up.
We have a small collection of albums but no turntable. We talk about getting one all the time. I have super, fond memories of listening to album growing up! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Oh, LOVE the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack! I had it on 8-track. Thanks for the jaunt down memory lane...
