Monster House

Did you see the movie Monster House?

We watched it last weekend and I loved it!!! So did Caroline.

I am very puzzled because I just checked on Two Peas to see what other people thought of it and many thought it was too scary for their 6 or 7 year old. Many said it was for "9 and up." Huh?

My girlie is 6.5 and it didn't really scare her much. She liked it.

The actual storyline is cool and has a good ending.
I read some reviews that said the story was weird but I thought it made perfect sense.

Maybe it's because I believe in demonic powers and the incarnation of them. (Ephesians 6:12 says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against "the spiritual forces of evil.")

Anyway....the animation effects are incredible!

We watched the behind-the-scenes about computer animation and it blew my mind.

It was clean too. I hate it when kid movies throw in something that my child shouldn't see or hear.

So I'm wondering...did you see this movie and what did you think? Did you think it was skeery?

Seen it. Loved it. Kids did too. They thought it was scary, but they loved it. We own it. Rented it for Halloween last year... Only one of my kids was even CLOSE to 9.

Seen it..we {all} thought it was a cute little movie. I wouldn't of labeled it a "skeery" movie.

Jonathan didn't want to see it because he said the commercial looked scary!
Maybe we will rent it and watch it on a sunny day!

We own it and the kids have watched it over and over. They quote the movie regularly.

My 9 yr old DD won't watch it. Says it looks too skeery!! She did get the PS2 game for Christmas and it took a while for her to play it because she said it was scary too. She scares at the drop of a hat. Make Halloween interesting at our house!
