I am sad.
My Father-In-Law passed away yesterday.
He was Mike's step-dad.
I feel so bad for my sweet, precious Mother-In-Law.
She is one of the sweetest people I have ever known.
She has always been good to me.
I wish we were closer. I'm going to try and work on that.
His family wanted copies of some old pictures of him so since I'm the picture person, I volunteered to get them made.
I go to the Walmart near my MIL's house because I know that Walmart has a Fuji Film machine.
I stand behind this lady who is editing and printing over 220 pictures.
I notice she has a camera like my first one.
I start talking to her on purpose.
I ask her if she likes the software that came with it.
She does but doesn't know how to get her pics from the computer to the store.
I ask her if she has a cd burner. Then I explain the process.
I see the light coming on in her eyes.
She thanks me for explaining that and then I show her how to clear her memory card.
Poor computer-illiterate lady.
So exactly 58 minutes later, I pull out the drawer to scan my pics and there is no scanner.
The machine doesn't have one.
I rush, rush, rush to my town to my Walmart to use the one I had used before.
For a minute there, I thought I had imagined the scanner part of this machine.
Whew. I'm not crazy.
Turns out, it is the same scanner that I own - an Epson 2480.
(I had never noticed that but my observant husband did.)
The good thing is...after you scan your prints, it runs them through their processing so you get a much better quality print than a Kodak Picturemaker and it's only 22 cents for a 4x6.
I haven't used Walmart for pics in years.
The quality was fabulous!!! Who knew?
I'm taking my pics there from now on.
Anyway....the memorial service is tomorrow.
Pray for our family if you will. Thanks a bunch.
