prepping for my class

Every month, I teach a cards class at The Scrap Room in Mt. Juliet, TN.
I am very lucky to have a group of ladies who are faithful to my class so it is almost always sold out.
This month is my one-year anniversary teaching there so I am going to do some special things to say thanks to my students.
I'm going to have some give-aways, some goodies for them and I thought it would be fun to do a take on some of my favorite cards we've made in the last year.

So here's a stack of just *some* of the cards we've made. We do 5 every month! (for only $10!)
I looked through these and picked out four of my favorites. Here they are:
So I have in mind to do a shaped card, inspired by the owl. I'm still trying to decide which shape.
I'm thinking maybe a baby card that is a giraffe? A wedding cake? A telephone?
Any other ideas? I'd love to hear them!

We cut the owl card out by hand, using a template and each part was hand-cut but now that I have the Silhouette, I will go the easy route! Yay!

So the shaped card will be #1 of 5.

Now for #2, #3 and #4, I made this sketch:

As you can see, I'm going to stick pretty close to the two on the left but change the patterns and colors, of course.
The banner card will be fun to recreate using a new download for my Cameo.
It has a mix of shapes on a banner.
Check it out in this pic below....on the top left.

Also, on the bottom right....I will be using this "Just For You" card to make a small gift card enclosure for card #5. I'll need to find just the right paper with a tiny print to peek through the words.

(The other 2 designs I'll save for later. These are a few I just bought this week. Don't ya love 'em?)

So the plan is...today I will visit The Scrap Room and pick out my paper and maybe stop in at Hobby Lobby too.

Then I have a dentist appointment to get a crown. Yay! (Not!!)

I am planning to do a video at the store today. I'll try to go slow so no one gets motion sickness. :)
It will be fun to see what she has new in store.

Hope you're having a great week! Happy Thursday!

Your cards are fabulous!!! Shapes for babies...baskets (think wicker laundry), bassinets, onsies, bottles or pacifiers. Just my thoughts on what would mail easily.
