I am so sorry for my absence this week. Life has been crazy busy.
I have some exciting news!
I'm going to be teaching at my local Michaels beginning in July. I'm in the planning stages now.
I will be teaching a pre-designed course by EK Success. It is called "Spotted Canary School."
It was formerly called "Scrapbook Design University" and some of you may have heard of that (SDU).
I'm very excited for the opportunity to just walk in and teach. No prep work required.
EK Success does all the work. I just teach. Sounds good to me!
I also plan to add a second monthly class at The Scrap Room in Mt. Juliet. I'm hoping to have a small mini-album class each month.
I'm shooting for July to begin with a "hello Summer!" album. I need to find a date.
I also want to expand my teaching to some other areas of Tennessee so if you know of a store in TN that might let me be a guest teacher, let me know!!
My cards class is Tuesday so I'll be spending the weekend prepping. Here are some ideas I'm working on:
I have this fabulous kraft paper by My Mind's Eye that is super thick.
The Scrap Room has this entire line on sale right now for 50 cents per piece!!!!
I plan to use this one with red stars for the top left card, square with a big blue star in the middle.
I'm going to use these square envelopes but the base will just be kraft cardstock.
I also want to do one with a banner going all the way down the card and I think I'll use this paper with tiny stars for the background (on the left) and the chevron might be one of the banner pieces:
I found these cute tag cards in a pack at Michaels. I want to make a birthday card out of them with a pocket at the bottom. So we'll likely cover both sides but this will be the base and give us a template. I will have a pocket across the bottom and the sentiment on the back. I need some fabulous twine to tie on the end.
I got this great background stamp so I want to use it this month too...it was only $2.50 at Michaels.
Lastly, I plan to use this thought on a card with a stamped image of a telephone. I really like what this says. It is on a piece of Jillibean paper I bought recently.
So that's the plan. We'll see how far I veer from it. :) I usually start out at one point and change it up quite a bit. But hey, you gotta start somewhere, right??
Happy crafting! I hope you get some time to yourself this weekend.
Be back Monday! I promise!
