For the past 6 months or so, I had been holding on to some stickers I found at Big Lots on sale for 25 cents each!!
I knew I wanted to use them to make wedding cards for my class and what better month than June to do so?
These are very old but I still think they're adorable. I remember when they came out and they were $3.99 at scrapbook stores.
Do you remember them?
(Sorry for the picture quality - I grabbed this image from Ebay.)
I wanted to base an entire card on the "just married" sticker because it is huge IRL!
So I started with that and pulled some of my scraps for papers that matched the cans and the car.
I think people shy away from stickers but you can make them cute if everything else, including the design, is updated.
So here's what I came up with....
My students absolutely loved the card and I was tickled with it too.
I cut the white scalloped piece with my Silhouette. It was a freebie that came with the machine. Yay!
I actually had in my mind a design like that and there it was. Love that.
Of course, my go-to technique is strips on the diagonal so I used that and the base is from a pack of green cards I found at Walmart. I think they were 6 in a package for $1 and they are 5x5! Crazy!
Now after using that sticker, I wanted to use the rest on another card.
So here's what I came up with for those!
You'll notice that the glasses on the left both say "groom." One of the packages was missing the "bride" glass.
I guess my card is for a gay wedding. ha!!
I'm now looking for a way to fix that on this one so I'll have one that's right for my stash.
Of course I couldn't let my student keep one that was wrong. :)
I found this My Mind's Eye paper that was the same green as the cake platter.
The pink was also in my stash of scraps.
I added the skinny black strip just to make it all pop.
The inside of both cards has a sentiment related to wedding wishes.
I was so happy when most of my students said these were two of their favorite cards we've ever made.
Hope you enjoyed seeing these! I'll be back tomorrow with a gift enclosure card and more!

These are adorable! And what a steal on the stickers and card bases. Your students are certainly lucky to craft with ou =)
These are super super cute, especially the first card. That's an amazing deal that you found, I love finding great deals. :)
Cute cards! :)
These are so much fun and look totally contemporary with your great designs! LOL at the comment you made on your second card. Good luck with coming up with a way to fix it. :)
Both cards are great.
Now you just have to find a groom/groom wedding and your set :)
I don't use stickers all that much. Not because I don't like them, but they are in a binder and I just don't' care to pull it out.
