goodbye Girl Scouts

Sadly, my Girl Scout troop of two years is changing.
Two of the girls moved to another town and my older two, including Caroline, are staying with me.
I am working so much now that I can only do Girl Scouts during the day when we do school.
Thankfully, the other girl is also homeschooled so that works! We'll work it into our schedule.

A couple weeks ago, I took the girls to Opry Mills, in Nashville for a day of shopping to use up their cookie money.
We had lunch at the Aquarium Restaurant and it was delish!

A hilarious thing happened when we walked out into the mall. I wanted to get their picture in front of the sign.
I had my 50mm lens on and it is not a zoom lens (you zoom with your feet) and so I got waaaayyyy back to take the picture.
I had to wait until no one was behind them and it did seem a bit funny how far back I was.
I kept saying - "wait just a second - stay still!"
Well this old man walks by, sees me a mile away from them and says gruffly, "You need to move closer."

I'm sure he thought I was off my rocker - being so far back.
I just chuckled because I guess a lot of people don't know how to take a picture but I was getting the perfect shot.
Here it is....(this is exactly how I took it - no cropping involved)....

It made me think about how quick we are to judge someone else when we don't know the whole story.
I am sure he thought I was crazy because he couldn't see what I saw in my camera. has stayed with me and when I see this picture, I think of it again!

Here are some more fun shots from the day....

I wish I had gotten more pics! I carried my camera around the whole day and forgot to take many!

Peace out people. Word to yo mother.

Looks like a fun day. My DD isn't doing Girl Scouts this year (she moved up to Cadette in June) because she'll be busy with the dance performance team. I know she'll miss it though.

The picture did turn out great! My troop is changing so much this year too, most of my girls moved up to Jr. and that leaves me with only a couple of Brownies. The plan is to have one heck of a time this year though as I am sure you will too.
