shaped cards

Have you seen this issue of Paper Crafts magazine?

It's the July/August issue and it is fabulous! It has a big article on one of my favorite things - shaped cards.
Check out the fan card on the cover! Totally awesome! I just love me a shaped card.

I recently made one to fit a small, business size envelope and here's how it turned out!

It's a little flip-flop with a flower, made with embossed cardstock that I sanded.
I used a template I found online and hand-cut it.

The inside looks like this:

Very, very simple but fun.

My favorite shaped card I've ever made is the owl, on my blog banner (above).
I plan to make one shaped card for my cards class, every month at The Scrap Room.
I'm thinking a baby onesie, a little house, gift, just to name a few. PaperCrafts has given me a lot of inspiration.

I've had two cards classes this week - both full and I got 7 sign-ups tonight for my September 4th mini-album class! Woo-hoo!
Hope you're stayin' crafty!

Awwww, super cute. I just got that magazine, but haven't looked at it yet. I've been scrapping up a storm before my company gets here next week.
