I was so happy to find this set of Project Life protectors for $5.99. I used a coupon and snagged them for $3.60!
I LOVE 4x4 pictures!!!
I've been getting them printed at Archiver's and I'm getting ready to place a big order with Persnickety Prints.
So the next day I went to Archiver's to use my "30% off the entire store" coupon. (How could I not?)
I snagged a pack of Simple Stories Snap pocket pages that I've been waiting to see in person.
It's this configuration...
Now I'm all set to use my 4x4's in Project Life and I have a feeling I'll be using this size A LOT.
One thing I've noticed about divided page protectors is that they are NOT all created equally.
I was super happy to find the Simple Stories brand because I wanted to see the quality for myself.
It rocks! Here's a side by side comparison of the protectors for 4x4's from Becky Higgins and Simple Stories.
(Let me preface this by saying that I measured my 4x4's and they came from Archiver's and are not truly 4x4 but a tiny bit smaller so I used a piece of blue cardstock cut exactly to 4x4 to show you the true size.)
First up - Project Life brand - two styles of inserts. I love this one for when I don't have anything to say about the pics but want to include them. Also I love a skinny insert in my PL spread. The sizing on these is incredible. The 4x4's fit perfectly and there's not too much room to spare so that they run around. I love this. Love! I want a huge pack of this size.
also love this style and might fill the 3x4 spots with some pics too...
Now here's the Simple Stories Snap brand....(top row is empty but holds 3 more 4x4's)
I really love how this looks. I think I'm going to use this most months.
Since I use primarily iPhone pics for Project Life, it's just easier to use a square because I post most of them to Instagram!
Now here's the rest of my review.
I'm not sure why but the quality of the Project Life brand protectors is far inferior to the Snap brand.
Snap is super clear, thick and sturdy and just feels more durable.
Project Life brand protectors are so thin that when I turn the page, the photos fly out.
I really don't think that's going to happen with the Snap brand.
So I've decided to only buy the PL brand protectors in the unique assortment like the pack above and for my Design A and other full size protectors, I'm going to go with Simple Stories Snap brand.
I have always hated thin, cheap protectors. Dalee were my favorite in standard scrapbook sizes and I miss them.
Thankfully, I had not purchased many PL brand larger protectors.
I also have some by Echo Park for Photo Freedom that I absolutely love but I love the Snap ones even more.
Please let me know if you have any questions about these! I'll see if I can answer!
Happy crafting my friends!
