ScrapGals + a card with my Cameo

I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend! We surely did.

Today's ScrapGals episode is up and it's a fun one called, "You Ask, We Answer."
We're covering several different scrappy topics, including using our Silhouette Cameo.

I challenged Tiffany to make a layout using her Cameo then I got so busy with the holiday that I didn't have time to do one myself.
I thought I would make a card instead and decided to make it say "hello."
Normally I type out the word but I remembered this new font I have called "Emily Lime Words."
It just has a few words but they're all cursive and I wondered if they would cut well on the Cameo.

Turns out - they did! I am so happy with the cut!
I used a Crate Paper 6x6 paper pad to put a pattern with a tiny floral behind the words.
Then I added a few coordinating pieces from the pad at the bottom.

I like cards like this because I can keep them on hand and then quickly send a note to someone when I need to.
The base of the card is actually the patterned paper (Scenic Route) and it was white on the back so that means the inside of the card is white.
The back of the 6x6 paper pad sheets are white so once I adhered the whole piece to the inside, it blended seamlessly.
I'm definitely going to use some of the other words to cut out on my Cameo since this worked so well!

I just listened to this podcast, and totally agree with you about art journaling! I think it's fun, and I bought stuff for it too. However, I'm always thinking that I could be using that time to make a layout that will mean so much more! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I. Love. This. I'm still feeling really Cameo challenged. Maybe I need a few lessons next time I'm at your house? Please...please....

I'm a new listener to your podcast (and another Southern girl), and let me just tell you, it is the best thing since sliced bread. I'm taking you gals with me to and from work each day and loving it. You remind me of my best friend and me, and I find myself talking to y'all as though I were there too! LOL I have lots of comments about lots of things you've talked about, but for now I'll just say keep up the awesome work - you've got a new follower in me for sure!
