making some changes

Hello lovies!

Thank you to those of you who have messaged me and left a comment here to say congrats on my news this week on the Scrap Gals and in my memory planner post Monday. The news is....I quit my job.

I wanted to give a little explanation and tell you about some plans I have for this year. First, all is well between my Pastors and me. I still love and adore them and support our ministry. I will still be a vital part of our church as is my entire family. My husband plays the bass and my daughter voices a puppet for Sunday School each week. We love, love, love our church and are not going anywhere. Other than my own flesh and blood, these two people are at the top of the list of who I love and nothing will change that. I was their assistant for 7.5 years and we have a very strong bond.

I have known I wanted to resign from my position for about a year now but I didn't feel peace about it until late February. When I did tell Pastors, they were surprised but super encouraging & supportive.

So where do I go from here? I have been blessed enough to have a pretty good following with my two podcasts, so much so that I receive requests quite a bit to create projects and videos that I simply have not had time to create. I had to make my job a priority so I just couldn't juggle it all. Taping the podcast is a breeze but editing them, blogging, uploading, etc. takes a fair amount of time. Also, my goal has always been to blog regularly and I literally could not fit it into my life while working full time. I didn't scrapbook much for years because I was so darn busy.

All that is changing. I have been creating more than ever and I have a long list of ways to maximize the following my podcasts have created. I value transparency in people so I'll be transparent and say that my goal is to find ways to earn money by working in the creative biz and hoping that I will be successful doing so. One way I'm doing that is by utilizing affiliate links. I recommend product a LOT, a lot, a lot, a lot. I have for a long time, it's just part of what I do. So now, when I can, I'll be adding a link to products on scrapbook.com and Amazon. If it's something you were going to buy anyway, I'd appreciate you clicking on the link I put up. If not, no biggie.

Another goal is to sell products I create. I've had my online shop made for a month but couldn't find time to add the product. I already have a list of four products I'm going to sell and I'm going to the post office today to weigh them and determine postage so the shop should be open this week.

For years I've been wanting to have a YouTube channel and my goal is to start it within the next week. I believe videos will help drive traffic to my shows and my shows will help drive traffic to my videos, as they do my blog. Also, I just highly enjoy scrappy videos and want to be a part of making them.

I am also teaching locally at Hobby Lobby now. I'm starting slow with just a beginner's class but my goal is to rotate about 10 classes and teach once a week and then make those same classes into online workshops!

That's just the beginning of my list of goals. I made 15 goals for 2015 and by March 1st, I had already completed half of them! So I feel like I'm doing well working on them but there's simply not enough time in the day to get everything done that I want to do.

So here's a question for you...what would you like to see more of from me? More layouts, cards, organizing posts, videos? I'm open to suggestions and would appreciate your input. Thanks so much for reading my blog and supporting my shows. I appreciate every listener and every comment you leave here and in our Facebook community. I love interacting with you all there. I'm excited to see where this year will take us!

I am so glad to have found your blog recently and now your podcasts! I love Disney and am always looking for ways to scrapbook my trips so I would love to see more layouts. I would also love to see how people organize their Disney supplies. I have mine in a seperate section than the rest of my stuff organized by park and then by land. Good luck with this now being full time for you!

Well, what an exciting adventure! Good luck, and I'm sure you'll be on somebody's design team before you know it.-

Thanks all! Other than Write.Click.Scrapbook, I have no plans to join a design team. I'm too busy focusing on my own goals. I've been teaching for 10+ years locally so I really want to get back to that but on a broader scale.

Congrats on your journey toward your goals and your dreams! I wish I lived closer to take your classes at Hobby Lobby! But I think the commute from MN would be a little much! :)

Well, i'd like to say I DO GIVE A BIG WICKETY WACK (this Cali girl has no idea how to spell this phrase, so be kind ;)) and look forward to watching you grow your brand! A friend told me about your podcast quite a while ago, and now I"m hooked to listening to you and "Tiff" chit-chatting and wishing I was right there with "y'all"!
I am a scrapper/crafter myself, so I'd not likely purchase items, but i am more than happy to use your affiliate links! Also....i don't think I've heard a more infectious laugh/giggle and adore it! keep the positive happy thing you two gals are doing and thank you for sharing your lives with us! :)
